Production Assistant
Will be responsible for assisting in creation and maintenance of all artistic/technical assests including but not limited to: Magazine layout and design, advertising, website coding and design.
Fresh out of school? We are willing to train the right candidate!
  • Very high level of technical competence on Mac and a thorough understanding of all software involved; QuarkXPress, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, In Design, FTP protocols and pre-flight software.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have an excellent eye for text and graphics proofing.
  • High level of understanding of print production processes.
  • Proven strength in logo and identity design.
  • Solid understanding of web design standards.
  • PHP, HTML, CSS Web coding experience highly desired.
  • Proactive, self-starter with ability to work independently. Strong ability to set priorities, solve problems and maintain grace under pressure.
  • Must be a professional, positive, team player, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to develop strong relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to adapt effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in marketing creative services department or ad agency highly desired.
  • 3+ years experience in a similar capacity preferred.
  • Four-year degree in related field preferred but not required.
  • Industry experience a plus but not required.

Photo Editor
This is a position requiring the ideal candidate to be proficient as an editor and photographer. The ideal candidate should have proven photo editing skills and broad experience as a staff photographer, with a background in newspapers, magazines and/or photographic services.
  • A teamwork mentality, flexibility and sense of humor are a must.
  • Is highly organized and can work and manage projects independently.
  • Competencies in design composition, knowledge of professional photography, camera function, formats.
  • Ability to work effectively and constructively with key editors, reporters, and freelance photographers to understand the assignment direction and be able to meet needs within guidelines.
  • Candidates should have experience with budget management, archive development, and digital imaging.
  • Has created film libraries and/or systems and procedures for film/file management in the past.
  • Excellent written and oral communication required.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, FTP, and Mac platforms is a necessity.
  • An outstanding sense of image and color.
  • Proven ability to color correct, adjust and manipulate assets in a photorealistic manner.
  • The perfect candidate will also have a desire to generate new story ideas, in-depth and otherwise, and follow through with them.
