CHARLOTTE, NC –The main stage for First Night Kids is moving under cover this Thursday at 7:00pm, to the McGlohon Theatre at Spirit Square.  The forecast is for rain on New Year’s Eve, but that will not put a damper on any First Night Kids activities. All are now indoors, including our final countdown and all stage activities starting at 7:00pm.

Reindeer Raiders in Charlotte

Do you recall, the most famous Reindeer of all? It could be you!
During the holiday season, Lite102.9 is teaming up with Children’s Miracle Network to launch the 9th Annual Reindeer Raiders of the Lost Change. Reindeer Raiders is an easy and fun way to collect spare change and loose bills from friends, family, classmates and teachers. During the past five years, Reindeer Raiders have collectively raised over $40,000. Every penny collected goes to Children’s Miracle Network.

In 1996, two Charlotte families joined forces to raise funds on behalf of their children, both of whom were treated for brain tumors at Carolinas Medical Center. The Harris and Silverman families founded the Hopebuilders 5K Run/Walk, and over the next 10 years - through the generous support of friends, corporate sponsors, runners and volunteers - raised over $1.5 million for brain tumor research in North Carolina. In 2005, the two families decided to concentrate their efforts a little closer to home, and they expanded the vision of Hopebuilders to benefit the new Levine Children’s Hospital.
